WATER LEAK DETECTION
Detecting leaks or finding leaks can be a very challenging, complex and time consuming process. HBC has extensive experience in this area and is trained to use various forensic techniques and processes to find leaks. Some of these methods include:
- Non destructive testing: we will use Videoscope technology to track and locate the leaks in hard to reach areas or perhaps use non invasive moisture meters to try to map out the spread patterns of the leaks.
- Site filed testing: controlled hose testing using certified testing methods and equipment to try to simulate the leakage to identify the leakage paths.
- Weather monitoring during natural rainstorms to observe the leaks and try to track the leakage paths – we often use our videoscopes.
- Destructive testing: removal or cutting out of cladding’s to gather detailed information such as verification of the as built details, material sampling for laboratory testing for Fungi and Mold analysis. Once the leakage paths are identified leak repair advice can be provided to repair the leaks. Understanding the process about finding leaks or detecting leaks can be a process of elimination and can take some time.
Problematic areas of a building can be:
- Roof Leaks
- Window Leaks
- Cladding leaks
- Complex junctions
- Balcony leaks
- Basement leaks
