HBC (2016) Limited is a small firm of building consultants servicing both the Auckland and Wellington markets. The company was originally founded in Wellington in 1992 with our main office now located in Auckland. Our specialist area of work is building consultancy and remedial works to high rise buildings, apartment buildings, commercial and industrial properties. HBC offers 40 years of experience and expertise and understands the unique environmental conditions that prevail in both the Auckland and Wellington regions.
HBC has built a reputation for excellence by obtaining practical working solutions to the varying maintenance problems that the high rise building community faces. HBC has expert understanding of building design, construction and maintenance. This unique skill base makes HBC an industry leader in developing best practice standards in building consultancy and remedial work. HBC really does know buildings from the foundations up.
HBC: The external building surveying experts
HBC’s services primarily cover the exterior envelope and interior architectural components of a building. We do not provide structural or services reports. In short we stick to specialist competencies by focusing our expertise on the immediate condition of a buildings external envelope.
The 80's Building Boom
The 80’s building boom left a trail of headaches, such things as lack of site supervision and fast track construction all contributing factors. HBC is accustomed to dealing with these issues and has the knowledge and method to overcome them. In fact HBC is prepared to take on problems that others may not.

Mark Radcliffe
Mark is the founder of the company and brings over 40 years experience in the commercial building industry. He is a registered member of the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors and is a certified weathertightness assessor. He is also a registered member of Window association of New Zealand and holds a practicing certificate . Some of his specialist core services include (but are not limited to) window and facade site field testing, water leaking investigation, leak monitoring, façade surveys and building maintenance. Mark has also acted as an expert witness on numerous building weathertightness claims.
